Cat Refuge Update, plus a new resident at the sanctuary
For the past two weekends I with some helpers have been working hard to get the outdoor area of the cat refuge to a certain point before winter. The ground wire with stakes are in with the side rails and the manure has been spread appropriately so planting can take place in the spring. So with $330 and some change left over a lot still needs to be done: netting and wire for the outdoor area; insulation, windows, door, and decorating for the indoor part. I'm also looking into heating for the small space. The wood stove would have to be stoked too regularly. I've considered a self feeding peelet stove but that might be too much for the space. I guess I have time to think about it. If anyone has suggestions let me know.
Second piece of blog: a new resident! We found a nice pit mix from the New Haven Pound today at their adoption day at Bishop's Orchards. More to come when she gets here.
