The Garden Cats

It's summer and the garden that I plant is producing a bunch of fresh vegetables to eat. The garden is surrounded by a special cat fence that I ordered a long time ago. The fence allows my cats to go outside safely and also protects wildlife from the cats. They love hanging out in the "tomato jungle" and laying in the cool dirt during the hot days of summer. They have two igloos/houses out there if they want, especially during winter or rainy days. The way the house sits on the foundation, there is a bit of an overhang so that provides shade and shelter for them as well.

The cat refuge/shelter that is going to be built, will provide indoor and outdoor living space for the cats protecting them from the elements and wild life. The wood stove inside will keep them warm during winter months and there is plenty of shade for the summer months. This is a very exciting project for me to do and I hope others see the importance of it as well. Initially the shelter will be the shy and not properly socialized cats becuase they have the most difficult time finding homes.
